Frequently Asked Questions
Is Permanent Makeup (PMU) Painful?
Do not worry! Although discomfort can vary from person to person, pain is typically mild to nonexistent during your PMU procedure. Initial and secondary numbing are provided to keep clients comfortable and relaxed!
How Long Does it Last?
The longevity of permanent makeup (PMU) can vary depending on factors such as skin type, lifestyle, and the specific technique used. Generally, PMU is considered semi-permanent, and its effects can last anywhere from one to three years. Touch-up sessions are usually needed 1-3 years to maintain the desired color and shape over time. Regular maintenance and sun protection can contribute to prolonging the longevity of PMU.
What Does The Appointment Entail?
To commence the appointment, an in-person consultation will be conducted to discuss client expectations and goals. Your artist will then meticulously map out eyebrows/lips to achieve symmetry and craft a customized shape tailored to each individual's face. Client approval of this shape is ensured before proceeding. After approval, numbing is applied to the area for 25-30 minutes, followed by the commencement of the procedure. Secondary numbing is applied for added comfort. Clients are free to leave after the appointment, armed with a detailed 10-day aftercare plan to ensure optimal results.
What Does The Healing Process Entail?
For the initial 10 days post-appointment, two types of aftercare are provided for application every morning and night. Strict adherence to this aftercare regimen is crucial for optimal results. During this period, it's essential to avoid saunas, pools, hot tubs, and excessive sweating. Additionally, for the first 14 days, only the provided aftercare should be applied to the treated area, as using other products may impact the healing process. Rest assured, your artist will walk you through a comprehensive aftercare plan at the end of your appointment and provide detailed instructions to follow at home.
